As an incubator of ideas, the LMD Foundation exists to provide room for experimenting with novel approaches and ideas for learning. In short, we are in the business in trying ideas others won’t.
We are currently implementing three programs: “Learn, Earn & Achieve,” “Project Go,” and “A2A4A.”
Launched in two Fulton County schools in January 2008, the goal of this pilot program is to increase scholastic achievement in math and science by providing students with tutoring and by rewarding students with money for participation and achievement. The expansion of Learn, Earn & Achieve will be a LMD Foundation priority if the program is able to provide external incentive that can be then be translated into an intrinsic desire to succeed in an academic setting. Project Go is a national effort to promote healthy choices for children. The program uses internet gaming technology and artificial intelligence to teach children to make good choices relating to exercise and nutrition. Project Go will be measured by tracking the change in lifestyle habits of the children participating in the program. The pilot program is currently taking place in Pittsburgh, PA with the intention of beginning the second phase of the program in 2009. (more...)
The Learning Makes a Difference Foundation is proud to report the success the of the A2A4A (America to Anywhere for Arthritis) marathon and fundraising program which supported the Arthritis Foundation’s Joints in Motion Marathon in Dublin, Ireland on October 27, 2008. The LMD Foundation created the A2A4A initiative to determine if viral messaging, online communication and social networks can increase team participation and enhance fundraising for nonprofit events.
